We so enjoyed a three day adventure in the stunning Waterton National Park located in southern Alberta in the fall of 2020. We hiked to Lake Bertha and remote camped, it was a bit chilly, but so worth the experience. I took so many photographs and sketched as well. I worked this image using oil and cold wax on paper to create lots of texture. What moved me was the beauty of the lush green undergrowth coming up under the dead standing older trees. A devastating fire had swept through the region several years earlier. The clear cerulean blue sky in the background created this hope filled scene, thus the name!
