I created this painting on location at the Leighton Center during their paint the Foothills Plein Air Event. This painting was juried as one to win the third place prize! Such a thrill.
Painting was created from an inspired walk along the shores of Lake Louise early one spring. The beauty of the transition from winter to spring was why I choose the name. I painted this heavily textured piece using a palette knife only. This painting was give an award in the Calgary FCA Juried Spring Show. It was awarded 3rd place out of well over 100 juried paintings!

Take A Long View – was an inspired painting created on site, en Plein Air, at Cascade Pond one early summer morning. I arrived early before the crowds and had decided this would be my view for a few hours. It’s such a unique area of our Rocky Mountains. The famous red chairs area a welcomed site in many of the iconic Rocky Mountain locations. It welcomed you to sit a while and to cast your eyes on the distant mountains, to take a long view of life!
“Moose Lake Memories” this gorgeous scene welcomed me as I enjoyed a short paddle in my kayak. Now and then, just around the corner there is something waiting to take your breath away. This we spot for me. The aqua green tones in the water and the glow of the bright green foliage seemed to intermingle along the shoreline. It was a smokey day in this part of British Columbia and the lighting was very mystical. Rocky shores, pine tree forests and mountains could only be improved on by the sound of a loon as it swam into this little bay area. I had such a delightful afternoon spent capturing this magical place.
