This was a fun piece to create based on a photo taken during our 3 day long hike in the Waterton Park area of the Rocky Mountains, on the way up to Lake Bertha. The forest had burnt a number of years earlier and new growth was coming up everywhere. A few larch trees still survived and shone their beautiful golden yellow hues. It really is a magical area of the Rockies. I painted the larger version called ” Down the Path to Peace” after I was super pleased with how this one turned out.
