This was painted on location, near Big Fork, Montana. At the end of August, 2024. I was juried into the Hock-A-Day Plein Air Festival for their 5 day event. Putting on too many miles on my car, this event offered so much beauty and variety. This scene, captured my attention. It said Montana to me. The late day light, the glow of the yellow fields against the back drop off the distant mountains just sang!! This piece still had some small aphids on it and will be removed once it’s dry! So no worries when you look at it close up.
