This piece was painted on location near Rosebud, AB. The storm clouds were forming quickly and the lighting was so fantastic along the distant field. . This was done during a workshop that I was so privileged to enjoy along with many other plein air artists out on the beautiful prairies of Alberta.

I painted this on location, however I was in my vehicle because it was so cool and windy that day. I enjoyed the simplicity of the forground trees that moves you towards the snow caped mountain tops.
The clouds where moving so quickly that presented a fun challenge to capture them in this piece asa well.

I painted this lovely little bouquet of purple lilacs, out on a deck on a lovely spring day. I used a “gravy boat” ceramic container we had in the house as I loved the white and the reflections that appeared on it from the white marble like table. I left the lively yellow background as it was really the underpainting.
