Painted on location in Rosebud at their annual Plein Air Event. I have always had an affinity to Grain Elevators. I simply loved painting this on location right near where I was camping this fall. Our small town of Carstairs once had 7 of these “Prairie Giants”. Sadly now we have none. I gravitate to them, the hard work, the vertical shape against the prairie horizontal landscape, the joy of bringing in the harvest. It all speaks to me, as a rural Alberta person.
